I think the meaning of exodus is so powerful. The road out, going out, out of. There could be a mass exodus of people in a city or even a church. For the individual, it could be a leaving behind. The Israelites were slaves to the Egyptians. God had a plan to bring them out of slavery and into freedom. Into the land He had promised Abraham.

We were all once a slave to sin. Even at times unknowingly, right? We all have had, I have had, things we needed to “come out” of. And maybe, just maybe, there is still something that is holding me back, keeping me from being closer to God, keeping me from being who He created me to be. What about you?

I believe we are the best version of ourselves when we are the closest to God. I tend to find that in worship, but there are so many ways.

It’s a funny thing though. The closer we get to Jesus, the more we realize we are not like Him. And even more, the greater that yearning in our heart gets for Him. The more we realize we need Him. Then what do we do with all that??? Press in. Worship deeper. Read more. Soak in prayer and His presence.

“So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.”Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬ ‭

God wants you to be set free from every bondage simply because He does. He is a good God. He loves you and loves when we lay down every burden. Forever. It’s a continuous thing, but it is also lasting and complete.

“Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,”Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭18‬

That last line, “be filled with the Spirit” means be being filled. It’s not a one time thing. It is a reoccurring thing.

“For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬
