Ephesians. A letter written by Paul to the church at Ephesus. A letter that talked of the work of the Spirit. Unity in Christ and unity in the body of Christ.

“When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is." Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭14‬-‭18‬ ‭ ‭

If there was a book in the Bible about our identity, Ephesians is it.

Our identity can be found in who we are in Christ. Who God is. The impact of what Jesus did for us.

Christ is our connection to God. This connection, bridged by the Holy Spirit, is the key to completion.

Paul deeply desired for the church at Ephesus to fully experience the love of Christ. Then he immediately said even though it is too great to fully understand. His love is so big it has no measure.

Don’t live below your calling. This is what was happening in Ephesus. They did not know who they were. They were living below their potential and birthright as believers.

We too have been given a birthright through Jesus and the work He did on the cross.

God’s love keeps us strong as our roots grow deeper in Him. As He reveals Himself to us, we grow deeper.

Our joy will never be fully known by anything other than God. There are so many things trying to fill our hearts. If we will pray that God would capture our gaze, we will be utterly changed and reflect His glory.

“May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen." Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭19‬-‭21‬ ‭

The British theologian Adam Clarke said this, “Among all the great sayings in this prayer, this is the greatest. To be FILLED with God is a great thing; to be filled with the FULLNESS of God is still greater; but to be filled with ALL the fullness of God utterly bewilders the sense and confounds the understanding.”
